About PesaNet
What is PesaNet?
PesaNet is a digital wallet that lets you hold money and send it to other people from your phone. Sending to family in Burundi and DR Congo from the US and Canada is coming soon. Our mission is simple: your money, your network.
Is PesaNet a bank?
PesaNet is a financial technology company, not a bank. PesaNet Inc. is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business. See our Legal & Compliance pages for full regulatory details.
Is my money safe?
Security is built into every part of PesaNet. The app locks with your PIN or biometrics, sensitive data is encrypted, and we screen activity for fraud and financial crime. Never share your PIN or one-time codes — PesaNet staff will never ask for them.
Accounts & verification
How do I create an account?
Download PesaNet, enter your phone number, and verify it with the code we text you. See our Getting Started guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
To send money, financial regulations require us to confirm who you are. You’ll provide your name, date of birth, and a photo of a government ID. It usually takes just a few minutes.
I forgot my PIN — what do I do?
Use the “Forgot PIN” option on the lock screen to reset it after verifying your identity. For help, contact support.
Adding money & sending
How do I add money to my wallet?
Open your wallet, tap Add Money, and top up with a debit/credit card or a linked bank account. Fees can differ by funding method (for example, credit cards cost more than debit cards) — any fee is shown before you confirm.
How do I send money to family abroad?
Sending from the US and Canada to Burundi and DR Congo is coming soon and is not available yet. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when it opens.
What are the fees?
Fees depend on your country, how you fund your wallet and how the money is delivered, and they may change during early access. Check the details on the confirmation screen before you send.
How long does a transfer take?
Transfers between PesaNet users usually reach the other wallet shortly after you confirm. Transfers to a mobile-money wallet abroad can take longer — timing depends on the destination and the provider. You can follow the status of every transfer in the app.
Managing your account
How do I get a receipt?
Every transfer generates a receipt in the app under Transactions, and we email you a copy. You can turn email receipts on or off in Profile → Notifications.
How do I close my account?
You can request account deletion from Profile → Account, or read our Account Deletion Policy for what happens to your data.
